The Academy of Health and Human Services is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need for a solid foundation for success in the health service field. Students have the opportunity to take classes in the following areas: health and fitness science, cybersecurity, medical assistance, and foundations of healthcare.

In 2024, the East Gaston High School marching band earned several top awards, including first place overall and first place in general effect, music performance, visual performance, drum major, percussion, and color guard.

In 2024, The East Gaston High School varsity competition squad earned first place in the America Cheer Cup National Competition in two categories: Game Day and Advanced Small All-Girl Traditional.

Thanks to our partnership with Kintegra Health, we offer a telehealth clinic here at our school. Students, who are experiencing a minor illness or condition, can be seen by a medical provider virtually.

The Board of Education approved the 2026-27 school calendar. The calendar was adopted during the board meeting on December 15, 2025, and revised March 16, 2026, to change the optional teacher workday from June 1, 2027, to August 4, 2026. SUN Bucks is a program from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that helps families buy groceries during the summer months when school is out. Eligible families will receive a one-time payment of $120 per child on a debit-like card. The card can be used to purchase nutritious food during the summer months when schools are out. Gaston County Sports Physical Day is Saturday, May 9 at CaroMont Specialty Surgery, 2511 Court Drive, Gastonia. Space is limited. To register for an appointment, please visit our athletics website.
